Description

The project is developed and owned by Madhya Bharat Power.

Rongnichu is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 0.33 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project are 425.5m and 404.1m respectively. The penstock length is 812m. The penstock diameter is 3m. The project generated 384 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $160.871m.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 2010 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2021.

Contractors Involved

Litostroj Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of pelton turbines, each with 56.5MW nameplate capacity.

CG Electric Systems Hungary Zrt supplied electric generator(s) for the project.
