The project was developed by Avangrid and SunPower. The project is currently owned by Avangrid.
San Luis Valley Solar Ranch is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 220 acres.
The project generates 78,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 7,500 households. The project cost is $132.758m.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in March 2012.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Xcel Energy under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors Involved
Avangrid Renewables was selected to render EPC services for the solar PV power project.
SunPower was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 110,000 modules each with 320W of nameplate capacity.
SMA Solar Technology supplied 38 of its Sunny Central 800CP XT inverters to the project site.
SMA Solar Technology supplied 38 of its Sunny Central 800MV inverters to the project site.
The project is utilising trackers supplied by SunPower.
