Shnokh Hydro Plant is a 75MW hydro power project. It is planned on Debed river/basin in Lori, Armenia. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Debed-Hydro.

Shnokh Hydro Plant is a run-of-river project. The net head of the project will be 247.3m. The project is expected to generate 300 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $150m.

The hydro power project consists of 2 units of francis turbines.

The nameplate capacity of electric generator(s) to be installed at the project site is 46 MVA.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2025. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2027.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to The Government of the Republic of Armenia under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.078kWh for a period of 20 years. The capacity to be procured is 500GWh.
