Smolenskaya GRES Power Plant is a 630MW gas fired power project. It is located in Smolensk, Russia. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. The project construction commenced in 1970 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in January 1978.

Description

The project is currently owned by Unipro with a stake of 100%.

It is a Steam Turbine with Cogen power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Lignite.

The project generated 1,500,000MWh of electricity.

The project construction commenced in 1970 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in January 1978.

Contractors Involved

Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod was selected as the turbine supplier for thermal power project. The project consists of 3 units of K-210-130 turbines, each with 210MW nameplate capacity.
