Description

The project is developed and owned by Global Power Generation and Grupo Gransolar. The company's ownership stake in the project stands as 85% and 15% respectively.

SOBRAL 1 Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 85 hectares.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 20,097 households, offsetting 51,489t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project got commissioned in September 2017.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Agencia Nacional de Energia Eletrica, Brazil under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.105kWh for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 30MW.

Contractors involved

Grupo Gransolar was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Canadian Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 108,000 modules each with 325W of nameplate capacity.

Power Electronics Espana supplied its FS3000CH15 inverters to the project site.

The project is utilising single axis trackers supplied by PVHardware.

Grupo Gransolar is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
