Song Hinh, Vietnam

Song Hinh is a 70MW hydro power project. It is located on Hinh river/basin in Phu Yen, Vietnam. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 1995 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2000.

Description

The project was developed by Song Da. The project is currently owned by Refrigeration Electrical Engineering with a stake of 49.5% and Vinh Son – Song Hinh Hydropower Joint Stock.

Song Hinh is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 357 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 141m. The project generated 370 GWh of electricity.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 1995 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2000.

Contractors Involved

GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of francis turbines, each with 35MW nameplate capacity.

ABB supplied 2 electric generators for the project.
