Tatar, Turkey

Tatar is a 128.2MW hydro power project. It is located on Peri river/basin in Elazig, Turkey. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2008 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2013.

Description

The project was developed by Limak Enerji.

Tatar is a reservoir based project. The gross head and net head of the project are 69m and 65.86m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 1 in number. The penstock length is 380m. The penstock diameter is 7m. The project generated 400 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $368.624m.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 2008 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2013.

Contractors Involved

Andritz was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of francis turbines, each with 64.1MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 37.15 MVA.
