Thakayta Township Gas Fired Power Plant is a 506MW gas fired power project. It is located in Yangon, Myanmar. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in February 2018.

Description

The project was developed by U Energy Tharketa Power. Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Myanmar and Union Resources & Engineering are currently owning the project.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel is procured from Zawtika Offshore Gas Field.

The project generated 720,000MWh of electricity.

The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in February 2018.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the Thakayta Township Gas Fired Power Plant (Thakayta Township Gas Fired Power Plant Phase I) is sold to Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction was selected to render EPC services for the Thakayta Township Gas Fired Power Plant (Thakayta Township Gas Fired Power Plant Phase I).

Thakayta Township Gas Fired Power Plant (Thakayta Township Gas Fired Power Plant Phase I) is equipped with GE Power 6F.03 gas turbines.

GE Power supplied TM2500 Gen 8 electric generator for the Thakayta Township Gas Fired Power Plant (Thakayta Township Gas Fired Power Plant Phase I).
