Upper Enguri 6, Georgia

Upper Enguri 6 is a 50.6MW hydro power project. It is planned on Enguri river/basin in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Georgia. The project is currently in announced stage. Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Hydro Green Energy.

Upper Enguri 6 is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 158m and 138.8m respectively. The penstock length will be 620m. The penstock diameter will be 3.8m. The project is expected to generate 255.2 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $80.3m.

The hydro power project consists of 2 units of pelton turbines.

The project will have 2 electric generators installed at the project site. The generator capacity is likely to be 21.6 MVA.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2024. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.
