Valentines Wind Farm is a 70MW onshore wind power project. It is located in Treinta y Tres, Uruguay. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in October 2016.

Description

The project is developed and owned by Administracion Nacional de Usinas y Trasmisiones Electricas.

The project generates 311.4GWh electricity thereby offsetting 187,726t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $178.6m.

The project has 93m high towers.

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in October 2016.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Administracion Nacional de Usinas y Trasmisiones Electricas under a power purchase agreement from 2016. The contracted capacity is 70MW.

Contractors Involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected to render EPC services for the wind power project.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 35 units of G114-2.0 MW turbines, each with 2MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2016, for a period of 15 years.

About Administracion Nacional de Usinas y Trasmisiones Electricas

Administracion Nacional de Usinas y Trasmisiones Electricas (UTE) is an electric utility. The utility offers generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electricity. It generates electricity through hydro, wind and thermal generation plants. It also offers annexes and consulting services. The utility operates a production plant, Salto Grande Hydroelectric Power Plant, which produces energy from generation plants owned by third parties. UTE makes available the transmission and distribution networks to transport the energy generated from renewable sources. The utility also provides advice on finding and correcting bad connections in time, switches and outlets damaged to prevent accidents. UTE is headquartered in Montevideo, Uruguay.
