The project is currently owned by Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad with a stake of 100%.
Ventanas-Garita is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 0.66 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 220m. The project generated 508 GWh of electricity.
The hydro power project consists of 2 turbines, each with 50MW nameplate capacity.

The project got commissioned in 1987.
Contractors Involved
Fuji Electric supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 54.1 MVA.
