Wabamun – Fort McMurray Line is a 500kV overhead line with a length of 508km from Wabamun, Alberta, Canada, to Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.

Construction works on the Wabamun – Fort McMurray Line started in 2017 and the project was commissioned in 2019.


The Wabamun – Fort McMurray Line, which is an overhead line, is being operated by ATCO Electric. The Wabamun – Fort McMurray Line is a new line. The line carries alternating current (AC) through double circuit cable.

Approximately $1,600m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project.

The development of the Wabamun – Fort McMurray Line project was approved by Alberta Utilities Commission in 2017 and the project works were completed in 2019.
