RWE Power, EnBW Energie Baden-Wurttemberg, Energiedienst and Energiedienst Holding are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50%, 37.5%, 7.5% and 5% respectively.
Wehr is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 4.4 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project are 625m and 600m respectively. The project generated 1,120 GWh of electricity.

Andritz Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of francis turbines, each with 227.5MW nameplate capacity.
