Whitewater Hill, US

Whitewater Hill is a 66MW onshore wind power project. It is located in California, the US. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in September 2002.

Description

The project was developed by Cannon Power Group, NRG Energy and Shell WindEnergy. Cannon Power Group, Royal Dutch Shell and Terra-Gen are currently owning the project.

The electricitiy generated from the plant has offsetted 130,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in September 2002.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to L.A. Department of Water Resources under a power purchase agreement with a contracted capacity is 61.5MW.

Contractors Involved

Whitewater Hill (Whitewater Hill Phase I) is equipped with GE Renewable Energy 1.5s turbines. The phase consists of 41 turbines with 1.5MW nameplate capacity.

Whitewater Hill (Whitewater Hill Phase II) is equipped with GE Renewable Energy turbines. The phase consists of 3 turbines, each with 1.5MW nameplate capacity.

Vestas UpWind Solutions is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 5 years.
