Swiss technology company ABB has secured a contract from Lhyfe, a French producer and supplier of green hydrogen.

As per the terms of the contract, ABB will be responsible for the installation of an automation solution to control production process elements at its first green hydrogen site in Vendée region, France.

ABB France industrial automation local business manager Bruno Roche said: “Lhyfe is pioneering a revolutionary process that makes green hydrogen production possible on an industrial scale – a big step towards tackling the world’s carbon footprint.

“This is a win-win technical partnership and ABB is thrilled to be a helping Lhyfe to deliver this important clean energy milestone.”

Under the agreement, ABB will supply its Freelance distributed control system (DCS) and ABB Ability manufacturing operations management (MOM) digital platform to the Lhyfe production site.

The solution being installed by ABB will enhance the operation’s efficiency, safety and productivity.

Lhyfe produces hydrogen directly from renewable energies such as wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) and more.
