Trackers and photovoltaic (PV) systems provider Arctech Solar has supplied its SkyLine advanced 1P tracker to a 3.2GW solar park in China.

The world’s largest solar photovoltaic plant is in remote Qinghai province and was successfully connected to the grid. It is operated by Huanghe Hydropower Development.

Arctech Global Business Activities president Guy Rong said: “We are tremendously honoured to deliver our high-quality solar trackers to this major project in China and, most importantly, we will strengthen our customer focus, and look forward to delivering greater value to you with our reliable products and strong customer support.”

The solar power facility is connected to the world’s first ultra-high voltage (UHV) power line, which transmits 100% renewable energy from the desolate north-west to the densely populated provinces in the East.

For the complex, which is located at an average elevation of 3,200m, Arctech provided nearly 1.3GW of SlyLine tracking systems.

Due to its structure adjusted based on wind tunnel data, the tracking system can also provide stable performance under harsh weather conditions.

Huanghe Hydropower Development deputy general manager Xue Wenming said: “Arctech delivered the first patch of solar trackers within just one month after the construction layout was finalised. Its on-time delivery and the highly efficient installation and commissioning support ensure that the giant power generation project is connected to the grid on schedule.”

Arctech has cumulatively installed around a 24GW capacity and completed 900 projects in 24 countries, as of the end of last year.
