GE Renewable Energy has secured a contract from the independent renewable power producer Innergex Renewable Energy to supply wind turbines for its 350MW Foard City windfarm in the US.

GE Renewable Energy will be supply 139 of its 2.X-127 onshore wind turbines for Innergex’s windfarm that is located in Foard County, Texas. The wind turbines will be installed on 89m towers at the windfarm.

GE Renewable Energy Americas Onshore Wind CEO Vikas Anand said: “We appreciate the opportunity to work with Innergex on this project.

“GE is focused on delivering technology and long-term services that enable customers like Innergex to succeed in bringing clean, affordable renewable energy to the grid, both now and well into the future.”

In addition, GE Renewable Energy has also signed a 20-year full-service agreement with Innergex.

The Foard City windfarm will have the capacity to generate nearly 1,230GWh of clean energy per year.

Innergex secured $565.9m in construction financing and tax equity commitment for the Foard City windfarm in May 2019.

The company closed $290.9m in financing from the lenders Santander, MUFG, Zions Bancorp and the Royal Bank of Canada, with a tax equity commitment of $275m (C$367.5m) being offered by Berkshire Hathaway Energy.

Earlier this month, GE Renewable Energy signed an agreement with China Huaneng Group, a state-owned power generation company, to build a 715MW windfarm in Puyang, Henan Province.

GE will deliver 286 units of its 2.5-132 wind turbines along with 130m soft steel towers to the windfarm.
