Chinese manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding has supplied 100MW of photovoltaic (PV) modules to the Srepok 1 and Quang Minh Solar Power Plant Complex in Vietnam.

Located in Buon Don district in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, the project was built with VNĐ2.2tr ($95m) investment from Dai Hai Investment.

JinkoSolar general manager Anita Li said: “We are excited to collaborate with Dai Hai Investment to develop and promote solar energy in Vietnam.

“As one of the largest solar plants in this country, this project demonstrates JinkoSolar’s commitment to manufacturing reliable PV modules which form the foundation of this 25-year solar project investment. Quality is critical to large projects like this.”

“Renewable energy has become a global trend and Vietnam in general, and Dak Lak in particular, has a lot of potential for solar energy development.”

Srepok 1 and Quang Minh Solar Power Plant Complex began commercial operations in January. Construction on the project started in October last year and lasted four months.

The project is expected to produce enough power to reduce coal imports by nearly 90,000t per annum in Vietnam and reduce carbon emissions by 72,000t.
