Vestas China has secured a 200MW order from its Chinese customer Hanas for supplying 2MW platform wind turbines for Fengjigou project located in Ningxia province.

With this order, Vestas’ total order intake from Hanas has increased to 1.4GW while also strengthening its long-term relationship with customer.

Vestas China senior vice-president and CFO Thomas Keller said: “We are delighted to continue to strengthen our close and long relationship with Hanas by delivering our innovative and proven wind energy solutions.

“This order is a new milestone for our partnership and it underlines how Vestas’ strong technology and customised service solutions continue to secure projects in the world’s largest wind energy market.”

The order also includes a two-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement.

In another development, Vestas has secured a 19MW order of 4MW platform wind turbines from State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) in China.

Under the contract, Vestas has agreed to provide a five-year AOM 4000 service and its VestasOnline Business SCADA solution.

The project delivery and commissioning are expected to take place in the third quarter of 2019.

Keller said: “SPIC is at the forefront of the green power transformation in China and globally, which fits very well with Vestas’ strong presence in China and globally. Hopefully, this project will be the beginning of lasting cooperation in the Chinese market.”

Additionally, Vestas has signed a five-year AOM 5000 re-capture service agreement for a 54MW wind farm with another customer in China.
