Asia-Pacific generation equipment tenders activity down 56% in August 2020

There were 29 generation equipment tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in August 2020, marking a drop of 56% over the last 12-month average of 66, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in August 2020 with 116 tenders and a 34.4% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 105 tenders and a 31.2% share and Power Plant with 77 tenders and a 22.8% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 16 tenders and a 55.2% share
  2. Supply & Erection: 13 tenders and a 44.8% share.

Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific generation equipment tenders in August 2020

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 25 tenders with a 78.1% share, followed by solar with six tenders and an 18.8% share and nuclear with one tender and a 3.1% share.
