Asia-Pacific power industry tenders activity in August 2020 saw 331 tenders announced, marking a drop of 37% over the last 12-month average of 522, according to GlobalData’s power database.

Looking at tenders by country, India led the activity in August 2020 with 188 tenders and a share of 56.8%, down 5.2% over the previous month and down 38% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Pakistan with 38 tenders and a share of 11.5% and Bangladesh with 17 tenders and a share of 5.1% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, India held the top spot with 305 tenders, followed by Bangladesh with 69 and the Philippines with 69 tenders.

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 80 tenders and a 67.2% share, followed by thermal with 32 tenders and a 26.9% share and hydro with six tenders and a 5% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Project was the most popular segment in August 2020, with 116 tenders, followed by T&D Equipment (105) and Power Plant (77).
