Asia-Pacific power plant tenders activity down 25% in Q2 2019

There were 241 power plant tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in Q2 2019, marking a drop of 25% over the last 12-month average of 321, according to GlobalData's power industry tenders database.

T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q2 2019 with 835 tenders and a 44.4% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 442 tenders and a 23.5% share and Generation Equipment with 314 tenders and a 16.7% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 184 tenders and a 76.3% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: 31 tenders and a 12.9% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 24 tenders and a 10% share
