Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in August 2020 saw 80 tenders announced, marking a rise of 14% over the last 12-month average of 70, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 69 tenders and an 86.3% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and a 6.3% share
  3. Supply & Erection: four tenders and a 5% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 1.3% share
  5. Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 1.3% share.

India tops Asia-Pacific solar power tenders activity

India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology tenders recorded in August 2020 with 63 tenders and a 78.8% share, followed by Pakistan with five tenders and a 6.3% share and Malaysia with three tenders and a 3.8% share.

Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in August 2020: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. NTPC (India): 1,070.13MW from two tenders
  2. Energy Efficiency Services (India): 279MW from one tender
  3. Gujarat State Electricity (India): 110MW capacity from one tender.
