Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in October 2019 saw 63 tenders announced, marking a drop of 31% over the last 12-month average of 91, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 48 tenders and a 76.2% share
  2. Supply & Erection: six tenders and a 9.5% share

India tops Asia-Pacific solar power tenders activity

India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology tenders recorded in October 2019 with 43 tenders and a 68.3% share, followed by Australia with seven tenders and an 11.1% share and the Philippines with five tenders and a 7.9% share.

Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in October 2019: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. NTPC (India): 1,090.29MW from six tenders
  2. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 600MW from two tenders
  3. Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments (India), Rajasthan Renewable Energy (India) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (India): 50MW capacity from one tender.
