Asia-Pacific Solar technology tenders activity rises 31% in October 2020

Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in October 2020 saw 93 tenders announced, marking a rise of 31% over the last 12-month average of 71, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Project Implementation with 68 tenders and a 73.1% share
2. Consulting & Similar Services: 12 tenders and a 12.9% share
3. Supply & Erection: seven tenders and a 7.5% share
4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six tenders and a 6.5% share.

India tops Asia-Pacific solar power tenders activity

India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology tenders recorded in October 2020 with 71 tenders and a 76.3% share, followed by Nepal with eight tenders and an 8.6% share and Australia with five tenders and a 5.4% share.

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

1. Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (India): 250MW from one tender
2. NHPC (India): 165MW from two tenders
3. Oil India (India) and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (India): 100MW capacity from one tender.
