Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in Q2 2020 saw 172 tenders announced, marking a drop of 24% over the last four-quarter average of 225, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 141 tenders and an 82% share
  2. Supply & Erection: 17 tenders and a 9.9% share

India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology tenders recorded in Q2 2020 with 137 tenders and a 79.7% share, followed by Australia with 13 tenders and a 7.6% share and Pakistan with ten tenders and a 5.8% share.

Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in Q2 2020: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 2,525MW from three tenders
  2. Railway Energy Management (India): 1,400MW from two tenders
  3. Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Malaysia): 1,000MW capacity from one tender.
