Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders activity down 15% in Q1 2020
Oil and gas companies are making moves into the UK energy market.

There were 335 T&D equipment tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in Q1 2020, marking a drop of 15% over the last 12-month average of 394, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q1 2020 with 737 tenders and a 49.9% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 335 tenders and a 22.7% share and Power Plant with 193 tenders and a 13.1% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 280 tenders and an 83.6% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 45 tenders and a 13.4% share
  3. Project Implementation: ten tenders and a 3% share.

Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders in Q1 2020

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 14 tenders with a 50% share, followed by hydro with 11 tenders and a 39.3% share and solar with three tenders and a 10.7% share.
