Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders activity up 21% in Q3 2020

There were 421 T&D equipment tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2020, marking a rise of 21% over the last 12-month average of 349, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2020 with 421 tenders and a 34.7% share, followed by T&D Project with 383 tenders and a 31.5% share and Power Plant with 261 tenders and a 21.5% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 341 tenders and an 81% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 62 tenders and a 14.7% share
  3. Project Implementation: 18 tenders and a 4.3% share.

Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders in Q3 2020

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 17 tenders with a 68% share, followed by hydro with six tenders and a 24% share and solar with two tenders and an 8% share.
