Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders activity down 1% in Q4 2020

There were 371 T&D equipment tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in Q4 2020, marking a drop of 1% over the last four-quarter average of 376, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q4 2020 with 371 tenders and a 37.2% share, followed by T&D Project with 278 tenders and a 27.9% share and Power Plant with 208 tenders and a 20.9% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 289 tenders and a 77.9% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 71 tenders and a 19.1% share
  3. Project Implementation: 11 tenders and a 3% share.

Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific T&D equipment tenders in Q4 2020

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 22 tenders with a 71% share, followed by hydro with eight tenders and a 25.8% share and solar with one tender and a 3.2% share.
