Oil was the top category in thermal technology in terms of number of tenders for the month in Asia-Pacific, accounting for 70 tenders and a 73.7% share, followed by Coal with 14 tenders and a 14.7% share. Gas stood in third place with 11 tenders and an 11.6% share.

The Philippines was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for thermal technology tenders recorded in June 2019 with 66 tenders and a 69.5% share, followed by India with 13 tenders and a 13.7% share and Bangladesh with nine tenders and a 9.5% share.

The top issuer of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved was: Ministry of Electricity and Energy (Myanmar) with 1,040MW from one tender.
