Europe generation equipment tenders activity up 40% in August 2020

There were 21 generation equipment tenders announced in the Europe region in August 2020, marking a rise of 40% over the last 12-month average of 15, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in August 2020 with 27 tenders and a 22.9% share, followed by T&D Project with 27 tenders and a 22.9% share and T&D Equipment with 23 tenders and a 19.5% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 15 tenders and a 71.4% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six tenders and a 28.6% share.

Thermal is top technology for Europe generation equipment tenders in August 2020

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Europe region, thermal accounted for 13 tenders with a 61.9% share, followed by solar with five tenders and a 23.8% share and nuclear with two tenders and a 9.5% share.
