Europe generation equipment tenders activity up 34% in Q2 2020

There were 59 generation equipment tenders announced in the Europe region in Q2 2020, marking a rise of 34% over the last 12-month average of 44, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q2 2020 with 70 tenders and a 24.1% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 64 tenders and a 22.1% share and Generation Equipment with 59 tenders and a 20.3% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 35 tenders and a 59.3% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 23 tenders and a 39% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 1.7% share.

Thermal is top technology for Europe generation equipment tenders in Q2 2020

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Europe region, thermal accounted for 44 tenders with a 74.6% share, followed by solar with six tenders and a 10.2% share and wind with four tenders and a 6.8% share.
