Europe generation equipment tenders activity down 6% in Q2 2021
Oil and gas companies are making moves into the UK energy market.

There were 44 generation equipment tenders announced in the Europe region in Q2 2021, marking a drop of 6% over the last four-quarter average of 47, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q2 2021 with 88 tenders and a 26.3% share, followed by T&D Project with 84 tenders and a 25.1% share and T&D Equipment with 74 tenders and a 22.1% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 40 tenders and a 90.9% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four tenders and a 9.1% share.

Thermal is top technology for Europe generation equipment tenders in Q2 2021

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Europe region, thermal accounted for 22 tenders with a 51.2% share, followed by solar with eight tenders and an 18.6% share and nuclear with six tenders and a 14% share.
