Europe generation equipment tenders activity up 6% in Q4 2019

There were 56 generation equipment tenders announced in the Europe region in Q4 2019, marking a rise of 6% over the last 12-month average of 53, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in Q4 2019 with 82 tenders and a 30.4% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 63 tenders and a 23.3% share and Generation Equipment with 56 tenders and a 20.7% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 29 tenders and a 51.8% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 24 tenders and a 42.9% share
3. Consulting & Similar Services: three tenders and a 5.4% share.

Thermal is top technology for Europe generation equipment tenders in Q4 2019

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Europe region, thermal accounted for 28 tenders with a 51.9% share, followed by nuclear with nine tenders and a 16.7% share and solar with eight tenders and a 14.8% share.
