Europe power industry tenders activity in September 2019 saw 70 tenders announced, marking a drop of 27% over the last 12-month average of 96, according to GlobalData’s power database.

Europe power industry tenders in September 2019: Poland leads activity

Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in September 2019 with 26 tenders and a share of 37.1%, up 6.1% over the previous month and down 28% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by France with five tenders and a share of 7.1% and the UK with five tenders and a share of 7.1% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 36 tenders, followed by Germany with six and Russian Federation with five tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in September 2019

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with ten tenders and a 27% share, followed by thermal with ten tenders and a 27% share and wind with eight tenders and a 21.6% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in September 2019, with 26 tenders, followed by T&D Project (16) and Generation Equipment (12).

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 33 tenders and a 47.1% share
  2. Project Implementation: 16 tenders and a 22.9% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: ten tenders and a 14.3% share
  4. Electricity Supply: five tenders and a 7.1% share
  5. Power Purchase Agreement: three tenders and a 4.3% share
  6. Consulting & Similar Services: three tenders and a 4.3% share.

Power tenders in September 2019: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. The Regulatory Authority for Energy (Greece): 512.56MW from two tenders
  2. Elektroprivreda Srbije (Serbia): 66MW from one tender
  3. Ministry of Energy and Planning, Luxembourg: 40MW capacity from one tender.
