Europe power plant tenders activity up 80% in August 2020

There were 27 power plant tenders announced in the Europe region in August 2020, marking a rise of 80% over the last 12-month average of 15, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Europe region in August 2020 with 27 tenders and a 22.9% share, followed by T&D Project with 27 tenders and a 22.9% share and T&D Equipment with 23 tenders and a 19.5% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Project Implementation: 22 tenders and an 81.5% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three tenders and an 11.1% share
3. Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 7.4% share.

Solar is top technology for Europe power plant tenders in August 2020

Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Europe region, solar accounted for 17 tenders with a 56.7% share, followed by thermal with six tenders and a 20% share and hydro with four tenders and a 13.3% share.

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

1. Ministry of Climate (Poland): 3,200MW from one tender
2. Arkadikos Ilios Ena: 50MW from one tender
3. Climate Change Transformation Board: 20MW capacity from one tender.
