Europe Solar technology tenders activity rises 40% in December 2020

Europe solar technology tenders in December 2020 saw 21 tenders announced, marking a rise of 40% over the last 12-month average of 15, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Project Implementation with 15 tenders and a 71.4% share
2. Supply & Erection: four tenders and a 19% share
3. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 4.8% share
4. Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 4.8% share.

Lithuania tops Europe solar power tenders activity

Lithuania was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology tenders recorded in December 2020 with six tenders and a 28.6% share, followed by Turkey with three tenders and a 14.3% share and the Netherlands with two tenders and a 9.5% share.

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

1. Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (Spain): 3,000MW from one tender
2. Nevsehir Municipality: 3.25MW from one tender
3. Perifereia Kentrikis Makedonias: 0.5MW capacity from one tender.
