Europe Solar technology tenders activity rises 28% in Q2 2021

Europe solar technology tenders in Q2 2021 saw 73 tenders announced, marking a rise of 28% over the last four-quarter average of 57, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 56 tenders and a 76.7% share
  2. Supply & Erection: eight tenders and an 11% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three tenders and a 4.1% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: three tenders and a 4.1% share
  5. Electricity Supply: two tenders and a 2.7% share
  6. Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 1.4% share.

Poland tops Europe solar power tenders activity

Poland was the top country in the Europe region for solar technology tenders recorded in Q2 2021 with 11 tenders and a 15.1% share, followed by the UK with 11 tenders and a 15.1% share and France with nine tenders and a 12.3% share.

Europe solar technology tenders in Q2 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey (Turkey): 4,000MW from one tender
  2. Ministro do Ambiente e da Transicao Energetica (Portugal): 500MW from one tender
  3. EAM (Germany): 18MW capacity from one tender.
