Generation equipment tenders in April 2020 saw 150 tenders announced, marking a drop of 14% over the last 12-month average of 175, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 88 tenders and a 58.7% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 61 tenders and a 40.7% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 0.7% share.

North America leads generation equipment activity in April 2020

Comparing tenders activity in generation equipment segment in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position with 76 tenders and a share of 50.7% during April 2020, followed by Asia-Pacific with 54 tenders and a 36% share and Europe with 16 tenders and a 10.7% share.

Thermal is leading technology for generation equipment tenders in April 2020

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for 138 tenders with a 92% share, followed by solar with seven tenders and a 4.7% share and wind with two tenders and a 1.3% share.
