Generation equipment tenders down 20% in October 2020

Generation equipment tenders in October 2020 saw 128 tenders announced, marking a drop of 20% over the last 12-month average of 161, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 97 tenders and a 75.8% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 31 tenders and a 24.2% share.

North America leads generation equipment activity in October 2020

Comparing tenders activity in generation equipment segment in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position with 75 tenders and a share of 58.6% during October 2020, followed by Asia-Pacific with 30 tenders and a 23.4% share and Europe with 11 tenders and an 8.6% share.

Thermal is leading technology for generation equipment tenders in October 2020

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for 109 tenders with an 85.2% share, followed by solar with nine tenders and a 7% share and nuclear with four tenders and a 3.1% share.
