Middle East and Africa generation equipment tenders activity up 156% in November 2020

There were 23 generation equipment tenders announced in the Middle East and Africa region in November 2020, marking a rise of 156% over the last 12-month average of 9, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in November 2020 with 31 tenders and a 34.1% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 23 tenders and a 25.3% share and T&D Equipment with 23 tenders and a 25.3% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 17 tenders and a 73.9% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and a 21.7% share
3. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 4.3% share.

Thermal is top technology for Middle East and Africa generation equipment tenders in November 2020

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, thermal accounted for 13 tenders with a 54.2% share, followed by solar with ten tenders and a 41.7% share and nuclear with one tender and a 4.2% share.
