Middle East and Africa generation equipment tenders activity up 74% in Q3 2020

There were 47 generation equipment tenders announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q3 2020, marking a rise of 74% over the last 12-month average of 27, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q3 2020 with 77 tenders and a 31% share, followed by T&D Project with 65 tenders and a 26.2% share and Generation Equipment with 47 tenders and a 19% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 35 tenders and a 74.5% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 11 tenders and a 23.4% share
