Middle East and Africa generation equipment tenders activity up 5% in August 2021

There were 22 generation equipment tenders announced in the Middle East and Africa region in August 2021, marking a rise of 5% over the last 12-month average of 21, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in August 2021 with 96 tenders and a 54.5% share, followed by Power Plant with 30 tenders and a 17% share and Generation Equipment with 22 tenders and a 12.5% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 13 tenders and a 59.1% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: nine tenders and a 40.9% share.

Thermal is top technology for Middle East and Africa generation equipment tenders in August 2021

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, thermal accounted for 19 tenders with an 82.6% share, followed by solar with four tenders and a 17.4% share.
