Middle East and Africa T&D equipment tenders activity down 79% in Q1 2020

There were 37 T&D equipment tenders announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q1 2020, marking a drop of 79% over the last 12-month average of 173, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q1 2020 with 40 tenders and a 29.2% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 37 tenders and a 27% share and T&D Project with 36 tenders and a 26.3% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 34 tenders and a 91.9% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three tenders and an 8.1% share.
