Middle East and Africa T&D equipment tenders activity down 8% in Q4 2020

There were 56 T&D equipment tenders announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2020, marking a drop of 8% over the last four-quarter average of 61, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2020 with 77 tenders and a 35.5% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 56 tenders and a 25.8% share and Generation Equipment with 46 tenders and a 21.2% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 51 tenders and a 91.1% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and an 8.9% share.

Nuclear is top technology for Middle East and Africa T&D equipment tenders in Q4 2020

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, nuclear accounted for one tender with a 33.3% share, followed by solar with one tender and a 33.3% share and thermal with one tender and a 33.3% share.
