Middle East and Africa T&D project tenders activity down 33% in Q3 2020
Oil and gas companies are making moves into the UK energy market.

There were 65 T&D project tenders announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q3 2020, marking a drop of 33% over the last 12-month average of 97, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q3 2020 with 77 tenders and a 31% share, followed by T&D Project with 65 tenders and a 26.2% share and Generation Equipment with 47 tenders and a 19% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 38 tenders and a 58.5% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 18 tenders and a 27.7% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: nine tenders and a 13.8% share.

Solar is top technology for Middle East and Africa T&D project tenders in Q3 2020

Looking at T&D project tenders by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, solar accounted for two tenders with a 100% share.
