Middle East and Africa T&D project tenders activity down 66% in Q4 2020

There were 24 T&D project tenders announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2020, marking a drop of 66% over the last four-quarter average of 71, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2020 with 77 tenders and a 35.5% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 56 tenders and a 25.8% share and Generation Equipment with 46 tenders and a 21.2% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

1. Project Implementation: 15 tenders and a 62.5% share
2. Consulting & Similar Services: seven tenders and a 29.2% share
3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two tenders and an 8.3% share.

Solar is top technology for Middle East and Africa T&D project tenders in Q4 2020

Looking at T&D project tenders by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, solar accounted for one tender with a 100% share.
