North America generation equipment tenders activity up 29% in May 2020
Oil and gas companies are making moves into the UK energy market.

There were 75 generation equipment tenders announced in the North America region in May 2020, marking a rise of 29% over the last 12-month average of 58, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in May 2020 with 99 tenders and a 46.5% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 75 tenders and a 35.2% share and Power Plant with 14 tenders and a 6.6% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 41 tenders and a 54.7% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 34 tenders and a 45.3% share.

Thermal is top technology for North America generation equipment tenders in May 2020

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the North America region, thermal accounted for 71 tenders with a 94.7% share, followed by hydro with two tenders and a 2.7% share and solar with two tenders and a 2.7% share.
