North America generation equipment tenders activity down 11% in Q1 2020

There were 159 generation equipment tenders announced in the North America region in Q1 2020, marking a drop of 11% over the last 12-month average of 179, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q1 2020 with 250 tenders and a 48.6% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 159 tenders and a 30.9% share and Energy Storage with 44 tenders and an 8.6% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 98 tenders and a 61.6% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 58 tenders and a 36.5% share
