North America power industry tenders activity in July 2020 saw 232 tenders announced, marking a rise of 57% over the last 12-month average of 148, according to GlobalData’s power database.

Looking at tenders by country, the US led the activity in July 2020 with 195 tenders and a share of 84.1%, down 0.3% over the previous month and up 64% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Canada with 37 tenders and a share of 15.9%.
Looking at the last 12-month average, the US held the top spot with 119 tenders, followed by Canada with 28.

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, thermal accounted for the largest proportion with 93 tenders and a 78.2% share, followed by solar with 17 tenders and a 14.3% share and wind with five tenders and a 4.2% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in North America as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in July 2020, with 103 tenders, followed by Generation Equipment (94) and Energy Storage (17).
